It pays to get a new job!

Justin started his new job last week. He worked here in the Meridian office last week and so it was good to have him here. He's here this week too and might be here half of next week. The company has been so good to him and the whole family got to go to a party last Thursday to meet everyone.

The bosses decided that they needed to have a company party and decided to invite families. We got there around 5 pm and they handed little rubber duckies to all of the kids. They were told to decorate the ducks and put their name on them. The ducks were going to be in a race just after dinner. So, my kids got to work and decorated their ducks. Some ducks got more color than others. Madison put LOTS of color on her. She even put "Cwak" on her duck so it would swim faster!

Mayci just thought it was fun to have a marker and not be told to put it away.

After having some delicious hamburgers and hotdogs, the kids were very anxious to let their ducks swim. Here's a picture of all the kids!
Notice, there are 15 kids. 5 of those kids belong to us! Our odds of winning the race were pretty good. They put their ducks into a bucket and one of the adults dropped them into the fast moving creek by the office.
Not the best picture but you can see some floating yellow things, right?
Justin was the lucky one at the end to catch the ducks and announce the winners. The kids were told before the race that the 1st place winning duck would win $30. The 2nd place duck would win $20 and all of the others would win $10. I figured that we would end up with at least $50 out of the deal. Not bad! As Justin announced that the first duck to the finish was Madison and the 2nd one was Austin, I just laughed! We came away with $80 worth of giftcards to Target! What a great work party! I can't wait for the next one.

Dad with the whole 'cwaky' gang!
(A funny little thing. They handed out certificates to all the kids along with their giftcards. Mayci was handed hers and she didn't even stop to grab her certificate. She went right for the giftcard. That had everyone laughing. The moms there said, "She knows exactly what she wants and that could mean trouble later on!" What a fun night we had!)
