Derby

So, we had our Pinewood Derby on March 20! Yes, it's taken me this long to get some pics posted. That was Mayci's first trip out and about! Of course, she slept the whole time. The boys didn't do as good this year as last year. This was Braydon's first pinewood derby experience and his car turned out good. Neither of the boys placed in the top but their cars looked good. Justin and I didn't do any touch ups this year to the cars. Austin did his as a firetruck. It was sharp looking. The boys sanded down their cars the whole 2 weeks before the derby and that week we had Mayci they painted them. I think they might have won had dad not been distracted by a new little girl in the family. There is some prepping of the tires that need to be done and Justin didn't spend as much time on the tires as he did last year. Last year, Austin took first without a doubt. He won every race. Next year will be better. It will be Austin's last derby. That seems weird to think! Braydon has a few more tries to show his stuff! For those that haven't experienced a Derby, you need to. They are kind a fun. The parents can get kind of heated sometimes. This year went smooth. It helps when you have lots of help from leaders. We also have a great cubmaster. She does a good job with all of our pack meetings.
