Just a Great Day

Our 4th of July was very low key! Such a welcome event after the June that we had. We woke up to the sound of sirens going off from a firetruck and a fireman announcing the city breakfast! It was 7 AM when they came around. I wondered why they didn't just put posters up all over the city. Then the rest of us that didn't want up at 7 could stay asleep!!!!!! Oh well, that got us up and going so we'd make it on time to the parade in IF.

We spent time in our garden. We caught up on things that didn't get done for 3 or 4 weeks around the house and the garage. We had a BBQ with Justin's parents. We made it to the fireworks in Idaho Falls. They were WONDERFUL! We also didn't go to bed until after midnight. It was 12 am when we actually got home from the fireworks. It was worth it though. The fireworks that I.F. puts on are better than any I've seen while growing up!

I also got to spend time curled up with this wonderful guy.
Just a side note- we were bundled up in blankets at the parade that morning and we all wanted hot cocoa to sip on while we watched the parade. It was STINKIN' cold!!! I wore a jacket all day long pretty much.

Kenzie and Mayci found the licorice. It's a must have in our family. The only problem is that we can't just buy one kind. Most of the family likes Twizzlers. One of us does NOT like Twizzlers. Red Vines is the only way to go. Only, everyone likes Red Vines so one of us does not get to eat the whole bag of Red Vines by herself!!! We've got to figure out something better here.

We walked about 1 mile to find the food booths and the music bands and the Kettle Korn Popcorn. That was so yummy to munch on while we waited for the fireworks to begin.

I love my 5 beautiful/handsome kids. I'm glad that we live in a country that gives us freedoms and choices and I'm more grateful that my kids have learned how to make those choices that bless them and our family immensely! What a lucky mom I am!!
