Memorial Day Weekend

We had a fun Memorial Day Weekend. We got to head down to Utah for the weekend and spend time with the Browers. It wasn't the best weather all weekend but the sun did come out a little bit on Saturday.

We decided to spend some time at the Hill Air Force Base Museum on Saturday afternoon. The kids were just glad to get out of the house and enjoy the sunshine.

This picture was pretty funny. We had only been driving in our vehicles for about 10 minutes and the way that Mayci acted as soon as she saw Austin was so dang cute. It's like she hadn't seen him for years!
Rachel, Braydon, Austin, Mayci, Kenzie and Madison in front of one of the airplanes.
This airplane was pretty big. There are actually quite a few big planes there. We did lots of walking around that place.

Uncle Chris playing with my girls. They might have actually been trying to attack him. Uncle Chris is always good with my kids!
It didn't take long for us all to get tired and find a place to rest our bodies!
Mayci is kind of funny. She takes awhile to warm up to people that she doesn't spend lots of time with. She was finally ok with sitting on Grandpa's lap on Saturday. Oh how the kids love their Grandparents!!
My cute girls with their amazing Uncle Chris!
On Sunday afternoon, we all headed to G&G Brower's house to have dutch oven dinner. It was SOOOO good. As usual, we all ate too much!
We always seem to gather and get silly and make lots of noise when we are together. We used to play lots of card games and the last few times we've gotten together, we haven't gotten much card playing in. The grandkids do their share of entertaining the adults!!
After dinner, we headed to the park and shot off some bottle rockets. Oh the fun big boys can have! Uncle Nick brought the gear for all of the fun.
This was something very fun to watch. A certain type of 2 ltr. bottle always got stuck on the rocket launcher. It wouldn't launch and so the big boys are trying to get it loose so they can put another one on. That was some good entertainment.
It was nice to just sit and watch. We got some good chatting in while we sat there watching the kids running all over the place- filling up bottles and chasing them after they were launched!
Kenzie went after some blankets in the van for us and ended up not being able to bring them all. She got a little emotional about the whole thing. We all felt bad for her but still ended up laughing at how cute she is when she is emotional over things like this. If you're wondering, launching bottle rockets are pretty dang cool. Those things can fly! At one point, the boys cut the bottles open and put rocks in them and taped the bottle back up. One even had fins on it. They were trying all sorts of experiments.
Can't wait for the next get together to see what kind of fun we can create!
