My three kiddos who are left at the elementary school, Braydon, Kenzie and Madison.

Kenzie is my 2nd grader. She got the same teacher that Madison had last year- Mrs. Clayson. She was so excited for school this year. I'm so glad that she is excited about school. She loves to read and has been hooked on the Junie B. Jones books. I'm hoping that this year she'll find another series of books to read. Kenzie is a good student and always finishes her work in school. She rarely has homework. She loves to organize her school supplies and had a blast sharpening all of her pencils this year to take to school.

Braydon is in 5th grade!!!! That is so weird to me! His teacher is Mrs. Cook. He hasn't said much about her except that she's pretty cool. Braydon is good at math. He seems to always be done with school work and then ends up helping teachers out with fixing something or working on computers. He's good at figuring out things and making things work. He's a problem solver, when he wants to be. He isn't a fan of spelling but he does like to read a good book.

Madison is a 3rd grader this year! Her teacher is Mrs. Christensen or Mrs. C. She told me for about 4 or 5 days before school started that she was SOOOOOO excited for school to start. Maybe even more excited than she is for Christmas. Madison is getting good at trying to do her own hair for school. She's getting more particular about what she wears each day. She puts out her clothes the night before. She's not a fan of math but does a great job on spelling. She loves to draw and do art stuff. She is a great reader and spends time writing fancy-like letters. She'll love learning cursive this year and is anxious to learn how to do multiplication also.

This little girl wishes she was going to school. She took Kenzie's backpack and didn't want to give it back. She thought she was pretty cool stuff. We really need to find her her own backpack because we've had a meltdown every morning when Kenzie went to get her backpack, only to find it was on Mayci's back instead. It will be a fun year with Mayci this year.

Austin is doing school online this year (k12.com). We're trying it out to see if we like it. We let Austin choose to do online school or go to Middle school. He decided to try online school this year. If he likes it, he'll do it next year too. Then he'll probably go to high school. The online school is nice in the way that they send everything that he'll need for the year to us. We've got all of his books and also books for me (the learning coach) that have answers so I can help if I need to. He has 2 teachers online. They can be reached by phone or email during the day. They have live classes each week that he'll need to attend. He will have assignments that need to be turned in by certain times and also reports and projects that will have to be done. He's tested with tests that follow the state standards.
The good thing is, he can move at his own pace. He doesn't have to wait for other students to go onto the next lesson. He only has to get 5 hours of schooling in a day. He can put those hours into 4 days a week or 6 days a week. He can do schooling from anywhere, just so he has a computer. He obviously doesn't need a computer for PE. He will also be doing spanish this year. The middle school was not offering that this year to him. He's excited to be doing spanish. It might be good to have him home during the year. He'll be a great help if I end up on bedrest! Hopefully that won't be the case this time around though.
We're all excited for another school year. I have a feeling it will go by way too fast though.
