Peggy and Grandma Hopkins took a minute and cleaned up the kitchen. It seems like they spent lots of time in the kitchen doing that. We had to make some room so we could get the eggs colored.
Marisa, Mayci, Madison and Kenzie working hard on getting the eggs to look perfect. We all wanted the prettiest colored egg. We did come up with some pretty spectacular eggs. We had a problem keeping the eggs in one piece though. Whenever we gave an egg to Mayci or Tyla, they seemed to think that they needed to drop the egg on the table. Half of the eggs cracked and so we did lots of eggs up with wraps around them. That was ok with me. It meant coloring eggs went faster!
Braydon and Tyla were working on getting their egg wraps melted onto the eggs. The younger girls thought that was pretty cool.
Madison got really good at dipping her egg in the boiling water!
We couldn't resist eating some of the eggs after they were colored. Here's Mayci showing how they looked in her mouth!
Haydee, Bridget and Braydon (see the excitement on his face?) relaxing after the hard work put in to coloring eggs.
These 2 were so much fun to watch together. Tyla (born in May 2008) and Mayci (born in March 2008) were so much alike. They both devoured an egg and they didn't just chew little bites of the egg. They put the whole thing in their mouth. They did this with bananas and just about everything else we gave them. They also spent some time arguing over toys and pushing each other. (OK, Mayci did most of the pushing. We're struggling with this hard headed little girl.)
All in all, it was a fun evening with a house full of girls (and 1 handsome boy). After coloring eggs, we watched the perfect girl movie, "Alvin and the Chipmunks- the squeakquel". What fun memories we made that night! The men said it was the best Priesthood session they've been too. I just love Conference weekends!!!
