I wanted to share with you our lucky charm! It was 1 year ago she made her way into our family. Since she gets to share her birthday with a fun holiday like St. Patricks Day, the kids said that she should be called our lucky charm. Her personality has been coming out pretty strong lately and it's been fun to see all of the things she's learning and accomplishing. She is walking!!! Today was a day full of walking. She loves to hold things in her hand and walk at the same time. It's almost like she was born to hold a purse in one hand while walking and strutting her stuff. She is a show boat. She loves to make her older siblings laugh. She's figured out how to copy people too. Dinnertime at our house is NOT boring. (It's never been boring but now it's very, VERY entertaining!)

She loves blankets. She loves to have things over her head or around her neck. She puts towels on her head and has been sporting a necklace the past week too. Here are just a few pictures that we tried to take this morning of her. We'll try and get more pics on here later!

You can't have a birthday on St. Patty's Day and not wear green! We got her 2 green outfits! I hope she likes green when she gets older. We made her a green caked this afternoon and the kids really want to make her Green Eggs and Ham for dinner (Thanks Dr. Seuss!!)

I was taking her picture and she decided she wanted to stand up on the rocking chair. She got away with it too! The smile is more like a smirk! That little turkey!

This was just after plopping down from standing. She didn't cooperate very well with the whole picture thing. She's too much of a busy body!

This was before Justin left to work. It seems like the more kids you have and the older everyone gets, you are lucky to even get your birthday celebrated. We have a hectic afternoon and a concert this evening with Austin. We didn't know when we were going to get presents opened. Good thing she's only 1 and she doesn't know the difference.
To make our day even more fun, we took Madison to the Dr. and found out the she has Hand, Foot and Mouth disease. It's a viral thing and they couldn't give her anything for it. Her mouth and throat are covered with cold sore/cancer sore looking things. Her gums hurt from all of the sores and her tongues has them too. Eating is kind of hard for her to do and brushing her teeth is painful. She's been a real trooper about it all but it could last for 7-10 days. She can't go to school this week and next week is Spring Break. For a girl who just loves school, that's kind of hard on her. She really didn't want to miss St. Patricks Day though. If anyone has experienced this disease and found something to help speed up the process, we'd love to hear what we can do for Madison! Maybe our Lucky Charm will be enough for Madison!
Happy St. Patricks Day! Hope you all found your pot of Gold!!!
(PS- No leprechauns were caught this morning! Whew!)

happy birthday sweet little mayci!! she is so stinking cute! why are our babies growing up so fast?!?!? i hope she had a great day:)
Derrick got that when he was 18months. It was awful. We had him eat a popsicle first before he ate any food so that his mouth was a little numb. We used lots of Tylenol and motrine alternatly. It just plain old sucks!!!
Derrick got the sores on his feet and all his toes he didn't walk for 2 week.
Good luck.
