It's hard for me to believe that she is old enough to walk. She has tried to walk for about 1 month now but never really took more than 2 steps at a time. She loved walking around the furniture and was such a busy body. March 8th is when she figured out how to walk on her own. The kids all thought it was so cool and spent the whole day walking all over the house with her. It was fun to watch because Mayci doesn't like the kids holding and touching her all of the time. She'd get irritated with them and scream until they left her alone. She did love it when we all clapped for her though. She'd clap right along with us.
There's a clip on the video of her 4x4'ing through one of our chairs. I had put all of the chairs in the front room to sweep the kitchen. Mayci doesn't like to just walk around the chairs. She has to go through the chairs. It's really kind of funny to watch. This particular day, she found one of the bigger chairs and it has a few more bars to go through. She must have felt up to a challenge that day. She went through 1 time and I watched her do it. She didn't cry or scream. Just went through like it was nothing. I ran and got the video camera so I could get it on video. She went through about 4 more times and each time she got more mad. She knew she could do it but went through in a hurry and would forget to bend her body a certain way. Once she got out, we'd all clap and she'd clap too. She just did it for the attention. She's learned from her siblings how to be a showboat!
The day of her birthday, she was a walking fool. She now walks all of the time and has to have something in her hand while she walks. This morning it was a little stool from out of the bathroom. She carried it out to the kitchen. She's quick too. We might be in a little trouble! The kids can't leave a door open or papers on the floor. She'll hussle over and get what she wants quickly. Oh, what fun it is to have a 1 year old. It's lots of fun this time around because the other kids are around to remember it with us. I don't remember much with my other 4 kids about their first year or two. Enjoy the video!

Marisa...how cute is that. I love when she was trying to go thru the chair...getting all mad and then just fine when she made it thru. That is so awesome that she is walking now! :)
she is soooo cute! i love the way they look when they first learn how to walk... their little wobbly body. Urban is almost there too:)
Has she figured out it is fun to play in the toilet yet? That is always a fun one. It was great to see you guys in the crowd. I really can't tell you how happy it made me to see ya'll cheering for me. I have the best friends!
