We decided to do up hamburgers and hotdogs for dinner. Have you ever tried to feed 12 kids and only have 4 adults there to help get it served? Justin did a great job grilling. Tyler did good to help with his little one (5 months old) and help with some of the other plates. That left Bridget and me to make sure everyone else got food.
We started out with a diplomatic way of finding out who wanted hot dogs and who wanted hamburgers. Once that vote was in, we started on the younger kids' plates and then let the older ones fend for themselves. It was a rather smooth process. For some reason though, we never quite figured out how to get them all to be more quiet!
We did have Dustin tell us he threw up during the night. He got up and acted ok and wasn't hot. We wondered if he had a little bit of home sickness going on. He went to church anyway and just acted like he wasn't doing so good. Then during Sacrament meeting, Hunter (3 weeks younger than Mayci) was acting kind of tired. I picked him up with about 20 minutes left of Sacrament and realized that he was burning up! Justin took him home and he had a temp of 102!!! We all couldn't sit on the same bench for Sacrament. The 4 adults sat on one bench with the younger ones and then Austin, Braydon, Madison, Kenzie and Colton sat on a bench by themselves. They were quite the whole time. Dustin was on the adult bench and spent most of the time lying down.
After church, we came home and got lunch ready and waited for the rest of the gang to come. Grandma and Grandpa Pugmire came with Aunt Wendy and Aunt Amber. I think Amber's kids missed her lots! They were all excited to see their mom. Especially Hunter. I'm sure that the 4 adults that had the 12 kids were most excited though! Grma and Grpa Hopkins came around 2 PM and joined the fun also. We got some card playing in and lots of visiting done.
It is so fun to have family in town. It's also so fun when they have all gone home too! Our house seems a little more quiet now. It was a great experience to see what it would be like to have 12 kids. Hopefully it will be awhile before we have that experience again. I need time to recoup!!
